Hello Awesome Mum!
My name is Priscille and Have Fun With Learning is my baby.
If you are a mum to a primary school child and who is looking for ways to support your child in his learning, in a fun and enjoyable way, you’ve come just to the right place!
That’s because I’ve helped many parents do just that and I make it easy and pleasurable.
Why did I create this website?
Let’s backtrack a little so that I can tell you the whole story.
When I finished school, I knew I wanted to work with children, especially those with learning difficulties or issues. But I didn’t want to be a teacher in the ‘standard’ way.
So I chose a different route to achieve what I wanted and went for a social science degree majoring in psychology at the university of Cape Town.
Coming back home that gave me the edge I needed when I started my work as a special needs teacher.
Learning for me was always about emotions, motivation and interest rather than academics.
I quickly obtained results with the children I was working with and after a couple of years couldn’t take new students as the demand was too high. I first created waiting lists and then discarded those altogether because the wait would be too long for me to take these children on board…
At that point I had a huge problem, I had no one to refer those children to. No one else in the area was working the way I did and even though I thought it was bound to develop, it didn’t.
This is one of the reason that I decided to change course and rather than working with children long term, which is only scalable to a few children per day, I decided to empower parents so that they could be the one to support their children.
I went back to get some more training and got certified as a Strategic Intervention Coach by the Robbins Madanes training Center, so that I could help parents better.
This website is my way of reaching all those parents who, like you, want to help their children in their learning to the best of their abilities and simply need the tools to do so.
